SPC Curry – Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic
SPC Curry proudly serves as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic in the U.S. Army. Before enlisting, he spent three years working side by side with his family at Crown’s Corner Mechanics, learning the trade and building a strong foundation in automotive repair.
Even while serving our country, Curry’s dedication to the craft hasn’t slowed down. Whenever he’s home on break from active duty, he’s right back in the shop—turning wrenches, sharing knowledge, and carrying on the family tradition of excellence in mechanics.
His dual commitment—to his nation and to his family’s business—reflects the same values that drive Crown’s Corner Mechanics: service, skill, and strength in everything we do.
Meet Desiree White – The SheMechanic Breaking Barriers and Building Engines
Desiree White, widely known as The SheMechanic, is the powerhouse behind Crown’s Corner Mechanics in Conyers, GA. With a passion for engines and a talent for breaking industry stereotypes, she’s turned her shop into a local icon. Featured on national platforms like TikTok’s Small Business Campaign and NBC’s New York Live, Desiree blends expertise with a signature style—black and safety green all the way. As the author of the upcoming 3rd edition of “Auto Repair for Dummies,” she’s not just fixing cars—she’s inspiring a new generation of mechanics. From vintage restorations to custom builds, Desiree’s motto is simple: break barriers, build engines, and never stop roaring forward.
Meet John Clark – The Vintage Virtuoso of Our Shop
John Clark stands as the cornerstone of Crown’s Corner Mechanics. As the oldest and most experienced member of our team, John is the number one right hand to The SheMechanic herself. Specializing in all things vintage, he brings an unmatched depth of knowledge to every classic car that rolls into our garage. Known as the smartest man in the shop, John’s expertise turns every restoration into a masterpiece. With his seasoned hands and wealth of experience, John is truly the vintage virtuoso who keeps our shop’s legacy alive.
A Rising Star in our Garage
At just 19, Abby Allen is quickly becoming an invaluable part of our team. With a solid year of hands-on experience doing lube and tire work, she joined us eager to dive deeper into the world of automotive repair. She’s outgoing, full of curiosity, and always ready to tackle new challenges, even when things get tough. We’re proud to mentor her on her journey from a determined learner to a top-notch technician. Watch this space—she’s definitely going places!
Jeremiah Durden – Technician & Transmission Specialists
Jeremiah has been with Crown’s Corner Mechanics since the early days, when Desiree first grew the shop from a mobile service into a brick-and-mortar location. Starting out as a Jr. Technician, he quickly proved himself as a fast learner with unmatched work ethic.
While pursuing his Mechanical Engineering degree, Jeremiah has sharpened his skills and developed a specialty in transmission replacement and diagnostics. Known for never being afraid to get his hands (or his shirt) dirty, he embodies the grit and dedication that keeps our shop moving forward.
Today, Jeremiah stands as one of our top mechanics—a true prodigy in the making—balancing brains, brawn, and a passion for the trade that sets him apart.
The Engine Eviction Specialist
Garland Murray is the heart of our shop’s positive energy and work ethic. A hardworking and intelligent young man, Garland shows up every day with an incredible attitude no matter how challenging the task at hand. He’s never afraid to jump into anything, and he’s always the first to lend a hand to a teammate in need.
Garland consistently goes above and beyond — coming in early, staying late, and ensuring every job is done right. He has proven to be exceptional at removing and installing engines and transmissions in both vintage classics and newer vehicles — and the fact that he actually prefers that kind of heavy-duty work just shows how dedicated (and a little crazy in the best way) he is.
His determination, reliability, and eagerness to learn make him a standout, but it’s his upbeat spirit that truly sets him apart. Garland is the most positive person in our shop, lifting everyone’s morale and helping us feel more like a family. Simply put, he completes us.
Chief Purrformance Officer
Tommy isn’t your average cat — he’s our full-time “supervisor” and part-time comedian. You’ll usually find him stretched out on top of an engine we’re working on, squeezed into someone’s toolbox for a snack break, or passed out in any open box on the floor.
Every morning, Tommy waits at the door for John to open the shop so he can “help” us get the day started — though his version of helping is mostly sleeping and looking cute. He does absolutely no work, but somehow still manages to keep morale higher than anyone else here. Tommy has a special love for vintage cars, probably because the seats make better nap spots.
He’s also the shop’s biggest freeloader: first to the food bowl, last to clean up, and always managing to steal the comfiest spot in the room. Customers often catch him doing “quality control” by sitting directly on freshly folded rags or batting at shiny new parts. If you hear a random clatter in the background, don’t worry — that’s just Tommy “rearranging” the socket set again.
In short, Tommy might not turn a wrench, but he’s the purr-fect reminder that every good shop runs better with a little attitude, a lot of personality, and at least one cat who thinks he’s the boss. Around here, Tommy isn’t just our mascot — he’s the real shop manager (don’t tell Desiree).
